My thoughts on City centre west to east cycle link and street improvements

  • I'd wonder if anybody has checked vehicles can actually drive within the white lines.  Some seem to change direction very sharply.
  • There are differences between plans and visualisations which is misleading
  • Sending cyclists down a one way street the other way with no obvious road markings for traffic heading the other way is an accident waiting to happen

Rosebury Crescent

Seems pedestrians waiting to cross southbound will be waiting on top of the cycle path?

Moved crossing points remain in plans

Morrison Street

Appears pavement removed and converted to taxi rank.

Rutland Square

Does the junction with Canning Street Lane need to be 2 lanes wide allowing left and right hand turning?  The junction could be narrowed to just one lane, allowing less distance for pedestrians to cross.  The right hand turn from Rutland Square is currently Taxi's Only (supposedly)

Elder Street

Junction has been remodeled from initial plans but still doesn't leave much room for pedestrians and cyclists to cross a 2 stage junction.  Question remains if a vehicle sweep analysis has been done.
